Frequently Asked Questions

How much do Cards cost?
Tracefast Safety Cards cost £29 per pair for each child. Additional cards for the same child can be purchased for £12.50 at the time of the original purchase.

Why do I need to purchase two cards for each child?
The Tracefast Safety Card is, as its name implies, a safety product. It is unusual for a child not to have at least two guardians at any particular time in their life and therefore we feel it appropriate to provide maximum access to the Safety Cards at all times for the child’s carers. You can, indeed, purchase more cards, for grandparents or teachers, for example We do not want to compromise on safety.

Have the Police been involved in developing the Tracefast Safety Cards?
The Police have been consulted throughout the development process. This has principally been with the West Mercia Force as well as WPC Software who have designed the Police “Impact” computer reporting system for missing persons.

Do the Police endorse this product?
The Police can not endorse commercial products and therefore, whilst the feedback we have received from the Police about the Tracefast Safety Card has been very positive, they are not allowed to formally endorse it.

Will my local policeman have heard of the Tracefast Safety Card?
Sample Cards have been sent to every Police Constabulary in the UK though given the size of the UK Police Force it is quite possible that your local police are not immediately aware. However, discuss the concept of the Tracefast Safety Card with them and we know they will be impressed! We expect Tracefast to become a household name.

Is this not just a form of ID Card?
No. The fundamental difference from an ID Card is that the cardholder owns the information and it is password protected. The information is only released with your express permission.

Who are Tracefast?
Tracefast were established following David Doonan’s experience of losing his daughter. The now MD of Tracefast realised at that time the value of providing immediate information to the Police and the difficulty in doing so, given the potential state of mind you are in and the fact that the information may not be readily to hand.

Is the process secure?
Absolutely. Tracefast is registered with the Data Protection Office (Z8509137) and Tracefast staff have Criminal Records Bureau clearance. Further, the Police recommended that Tracefast password protect each Card and this is done. Once the Card is loaded and approved, all the data supplied to Tracefast is destroyed.
