The Police and Tracefast Partners

The Police...

The Police sate that, “What happens in the first two hours of a missing person’s scenario is critical to whether the individual is found safely.”

It is important to understand that the Safety Card has been developed through consultation with the relevant sections of the Police Force, but, because it is a commercial product, the Police cannot formally endorse it.

However, if you asked your local station that given a missing person’s scenario, you could instantly give them all the information they required, you will likely find they are very supportive of the Tracefast Safety Card!

Samples of the Tracefast Card has been sent to every Police Constabulary in the country (and Interpol), though of course there is a chance that your local police station may not yet have heard of the Tracefast Safety Card as the Police Force is such a large organization!

Nonetheless, experience to date indicates that in a practical sense the Police really believe in the Tracefast Safety Card.

To ensure the Card provides the relevant information in the appropriate format, it was developed with the assistance of WPC Software Limited who provide two thirds of the UK Police Forces with their Missing Persons Computer Systems.

Throughout the development stages, Tracefast has consulted with the Criminal Records Bureau and kept in regular dialogue with the Co-Coordinating Officer for the Police Missing Persons Policy at the National Centre of Policing Excellence.

The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) have also been informed of the Tracefast initiative.

Despite not being able to formally endorse the Tracefast Safety Card, a number of constabularies have offered encouraging words of support and there has been no negative reaction of any sort.

For example, when told about the Tracefast Safety Card, an Inspector within the West Mercia Police Force, Inspector Shakesheff said, “the rapid reporting of information in the early stages of any missing person enquiry is essential in assisting the Police to trace the subject, and I naturally support any mechanism to achieve this.”

Kidscape...

Kidscape, the campaign for chldren’s safety, was founded in 1984 by Dr Michele Elliott, mother and child psychologist, with the aim of teaching children personal safety. Kidscape was the first nationwide prevention programme for children dealing with personal safety.

Where other charities offer ‘after the event’ support, Kidscape works to keep children safe before harm occurs.

One of Kidscape’s founding beliefs is “all adults have the responsibility to keep children safe”

Tracefast are donating a sum from every sale to Kidscape and therefore your purchase also assists this worthwhile children’s charity.

A Kidscape spokesperson says, “Kidscape is happy to be involved in the Tracefast project which will hopefully help to keep children safe wherever they are in the world.”
